A 34-year-old Erie man died Sunday afternoon after his motorcycle crashed along West 12th Street in Millcreek Township, according to Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook.

The accident was reported Sunday at 2:11 p.m. in the 3000 block of West 12th Street, Erie County 911 reported.

According to Cook, the Erie man, whose name was not released, was driving a motorcycle west on West 12th Street when a car reportedly pulled out from Harper Drive, and the man laid his motorcycle down.

The motorcyclist was taken to UPMC Hamot, where he was pronounced dead in the operating room at 3:28 p.m. Sunday, Cook said.

No information on the accident was immediately available from the Millcreek Township Police Department Monday morning.
